During the last 20 years, the concept of superheros has really taken hold in our culture. The immense popularity of superheros is totally understandable. We are living in a very precarious time in human history – one where we are all very aware that the earth does indeed need saving.
But in real life the villains tend to be men with corporate power, who care more about their profits than the ecosystems they destroy or future of our planet.
These modern day “villains” are just people who carry countless generations of unresolved trauma. When people suffer trauma it stunts the development of empathy. This is why so many people in power fail to empathize with the Earth’s suffering.
So What Can We Do?
Those of us that will never be able to step a single foot into the same room as any of these people in power – What can we do? How do we change this system from the bottom up? Something that every single one of us can do is start working to heal ourselves and become a SPIRITUAL SUPERHERO. We don’t need to wait for someone else to save us. We all are capable of cultivating powers that change the world.
When we transmute our old pain and create a solid spiritual foundation within ourselves, all actions that flow through us are imbued with the intelligence of Source Energy – the same intelligence that orchestrates all activity in the universe. When we are in alignment with Source Energy every action we take in activism or politics is significantly more effective.
Healing ourselves is the first step to healing our dysfunctional cultures. Healing our dysfunctional cultures is a crucial step to saving the entire planet. The things that humans do – and create – effect every other species on this planet. We are all interconnected.
Women To the Rescue!
Women are especially suited to becoming the spiritual superheroes that the Earth so desperately needs because of our heightened powers of intuition and empathy. In the book The Power of Now, spiritual leader Eckhart Tolle even says that women tend to naturally be closer to enlightenment than men.
Why are women closer to enlightenment? Generally speaking, Women are closer to it than men since they virtually embody the Unmanifested. To go beyond the mind and reconnect with the deeper reality of Being, these qualities are needed: surrender, non-judgement, an openness that allows life to be instead of resisting it, the capacity to hold all things in your loving knowing. All these qualities are much more closely related to the female principle. Whereas the mind-energy is hard and rigid, Being-energy is soft and yielding and yet infinitely more powerful than the mind. The mind runs our civilization whereas Being is the very intelligence that is in charge of all life on our planet and beyond. Women are regaining the function that is their birthright: to be a bridge between the manifested world and the Unmanifested, between physicality and spirit.”
Let that sink in, ladies. It is your BIRTHRIGHT, your destiny, to be a spiritual superhero on this planet. We all can be the type of people who can raise the vibration of an entire room just by walking in. And here’s how:
Make Time to Sit With Your Pain
This first step is the hardest. But it is so essential to the process of becoming a spiritual superhero. We can get so good at running from our pain, that we never give ourselves a chance to learn what it is trying to teach us.
Most of us have become skilled pain suppressors. Maybe you continuously numb yourself with substances or screens, maybe you keep yourself so busy you don’t have time to feel. But no matter, the pain will always find you eventually, in quiet moments when you are alone. But what we don’t realize is that our sadness is actually a caring teacher. It is trying to tell us that we (as individuals and collectively) are not living in alignment with our highest purpose.
Acknowledging how lost and miserable we may feel is scary and deeply uncomfortable. Because in order to truly alleviate our pain it usually requires us to make substantial changes to our lives, habits, and perspectives. But as you make time to sit with your pain and learn the lessons it has to teach, the energy that once was used up in generating the pain can start to transmute back to pure nourishing Source Energy that will revitalize your body and mind.
Reconnect with the Breath
“Despite illness of body or mind, in spite of blinding despair or habitual belief, who you are is whole. Let nothing keep you separate from the truth. The soul, illumined from within, longs to be known for what it is. Undying, untouched by fire or the storms of life, there is a place inside where stillness and abiding peace reside. You can ride the breath to go there.” – Dana Faulds
Taking time to meditate daily, even just for 10 minutes, is a huge step in developing your spiritual superpowers. Not only can regular meditation have amazing physical and emotional healing effects, but it also is a way for us to open the door between ourselves and the divine realm. In the silence, we can receive any wisdom we may be needing. There are so many ways to practice meditation, explore different styles and find which one works best for you.
Don’t judge yourself if you struggle to sit and remain still. Every time we manage to dip our toes in our inner peace -even if it’s just for a few moments- it brings more tranquility and balance into the world through us.
Hold Your Own
This is a hard one that takes time and practice. When we first start to become a spiritual superhero, it can be like having each foot in a different world. At home you feel like a zen master, reveling in your peacefulness. But then when you walk outside, you are completely taken over by the energy field of the “normal” world. One minute you are in blissful oneness with the divine and the next you are anxious and judgmental all over again.
So you have to learn how to stay grounded in your spiritual presence in the midst of chaos. That is how you start to raise the vibrations of your surroundings instead of letting the environment take you down with it.
What are some practices to help you do this? Many people like to envision a bubble around themselves. which is a good start to “protect” your energy. But remember the ultimate goal of a spiritual superhero is to use your energy to help raise all sentient life into awakening. We don’t want to close off our energy from the rest of the world, hoarding all of our goodness to ourselves.
But the bubble image can be helpful for people in the beginning. Start with a bubble around yourself where the vibration of healing energy is contained, protected, and resonates fiercely. Once you really feel that sensation, extend your bubble a little further beyond yourself. Now everything close to you is in your bubble and being permeated to the core with these healing frequencies.
I personally have a hard time visualizing when I am in the midst of “normal” life stuff like small talk or grocery shopping. So I focus on sensations instead. Whenever I feel myself being overtaken by the world, I start by bringing my awareness back into my hands. It’s really easy to feel the buzzing aliveness in our hands. That buzzing aliveness we feel is pure Source Energy. Feeling its presence inside of my hands makes me immediately remember the expansive soul that inhabits my body.
Its wisdom far surpasses my monkey mind that I so often confuse for my real self. I am not my thoughts. I am this energy in my hands.
When you are connected to Source Energy, everyone around you begins to come into alignment as well.
Practice Playfulness
In a world that tends to be so grim and serious, playfulness is such a potent power of a spiritual superhero. Many gurus say that relearning playfulness is one of the most important spiritual practices.
When we are trapped in our own seriousness, it is because we are stuck in continuous states of flight or fight. How could I have fun? I am under constant threat! However for many of us, this isn’t actually true. It’s just a story our egos keep telling us. Being playful does not mean abandoning your responsibilities. It is about abandoning your insecurities. So often we let our fears of judgement or failure deter us from trying fun things.
Don’t let your fears keep you from having fun! Here is an example: whenever I am at an event with people playing live music, I dance. These days most people just stand or sit and watch. But I love the way dancing makes me feel SO MUCH that I don’t care if I am the only one doing it or who is watching. Often times my dancing invites others to get up and groove themselves. Even those who don’t join in are still washed by waves of enjoyment just by witnessing other people having fun.
When we allow ourselves to be fearless and play, all of our actions become infused with infectious joy.
There are so many ways that we can create more playfulness in our lives. Think of ways you can add the feeling of playfulness to the things you do everyday.
Give Thanks For This Oasis in Space
The Earth is a miraculous, magical, LIVING place. Life here has been dancing through billions of years of evolution. And when we look up at the stars, we are seeing the oldest parts of ourselves. Don’t let the busyness of human life make you forget your role in this incredible story. Give thanks for the ridiculously complex web of events that has lead to you being here at this moment in time.
Know that every single life form on this planet lives in a state of interdependence. We NEED each other. Every species from humans to insects to tiny bacteria all are working together, striving for survival on this planet. For too long the question “Will this benefit humans?” has governed all of our moral decisions, to the detriment of all other life forms on Earth.
But every creature is essential to life on this planet. When we learn to deeply appreciate every other life form for the vital role they play in cocreating our amazing oasis in space, it changes our moral compass. No longer can we justify rampant destruction of ecosystems for the benefit of mankind.
If all humans adopted this kind of gratitude it would completely transform the way we live. So be the spiritual superhero this planet needs. Start with yourself, and we will be one giant leap closer to saving the world.

The importance of spiritual superheroes cannot be stressed enough. At such a pivotal time in our earths current trajectory we need as many people stepping up to the roles of saving this place for all life on earth. It is so vital that women lead the way with their innate connection to source helping raise the vibrations of their communities around the world. Shifting the path to one of renewal, love, and healing together we can save this place so many lifeforms call home.

It makes me sad that the world today is not like the world I grew up in. There is so much hate and violence nowadays it is just alarming. I want to be a spiritual superhero. If changes should be done, I want it to start with me.
