First let me say, I am so in love with Ayla Nereo. She is so wise and genuine. I could recommend every single one of her beautifully written, spirit-channeled songs. But today I am especially feeling this one: “Ivory Tongue”, a poetic tune from her 2016 album, Code of Flowers.
In an interview, Ayla Nereo explains that she actually was afraid of singing in front of people for most of her life. It wasn’t until her senior year in collage, when she was learning to play the guitar, that she timidly began sharing her voice with others. The wave of support she received from the people around her helped her overcome her anxiety about singing.
In this song “Ivory Tongue” Ayla beautifully recreates this experience and in turn offers her own enthusiastic encouragement for all women who are beginning to share their truth.
“Sister sun your ivory tongue is flowin’ like the waters run and all my thoughts jump into feathers abound fall on the page down, feathers abound fall on the pages,
Sister sun your inner lungs are spinning shapes alive and wove in vision
praying, pray our spirit, turn, our heart’s’ll become” Click here if you’d like to see the complete lyrics.
What a beautiful transmission for all of womankind. Through cultural conditioning and past life trauma many women (myself included) struggle to speak their truth. We are taught to not be too big or too loud. But it’s time to shake off the fear! The world needs your voice!
Ladies, let us kindle each other hearts into roaring flames
