Hey everyone! Wishing you well during this weird, scary, and choatic time.
I wanted to give everyone an update on how our little family is fairing through the covid-19 crisis.
In short, we are fortunate and doing well. Brian’s job is outdoor lawn care so he has been able to work as normal. Financially we are doing great. We actually have the money we need to buy a bus, but now the search has been delayed by the COVID-19 restrictions and travel bans.
One of my biggest lessons this year has been PATIENCE. It has somehow already been six months that we have been living with Caleb and Ashley. And we still don’t even have a bus to work on yet. At first it was waiting for the funds. And now that we have the funds, it’s waiting out the COVID-19 restrictions. I am learning to trust that everything is going to happen when the time is right.
Another undeniable lesson from the Universe for me is that I SERIOUSLY need to learn to make peace with my isolation. I was just starting to get in the groove of planning more play dates and making more time to spend with friends when all the lock downs and social distance restrictions were implemented. Divine timing I guess. I am realizing even more deeply that I need to think of this time as solitude instead isolation. And I need to be doing the spiritual and mental work to cultivate my space (both internally and externally) into an oasis of solitude instead of isolation.
Some days (and moments) I am better at doing this than others. But little by little, it’s getting better. Being stuck at home can be my own personal hell or heaven on earth, it all just depends on which perspective I choose.
How are you holding up, friends? What are you doing to help fend of the stir-craziness and anxiety? I’d really love to learn from you and support you in whatever ways I can.
We’re spending a lot of time with our feet in the mud and taking deep breathes.
Saphire and Harmony have been doing surprisingly well throughout all of these abrupt changes in our lives. The natural adaptability of children is amazing. Throughout all of this, I am eternally thankful that they have each other. And that I have them, my little gurus.
With All My Love,
Melanie
