In an interview, Ayla explains that she actually was afraid of singing in front of people for most of her life. It wasn’t until her senior year in collage, when she was learning to play the guitar, that she timidly began sharing her voice with others. The wave of support she received from people helped her overcome her anxiety about singing. In this song “Ivory Tongue” Ayla beautifully recreates this experience and in turn offers her own enthusiastic encouragement for all women who are beginning to share their truth.
